Black Stallion Steak House Restaurant – Top Monticello KY Steakhouse with Fresh, Flavorful Steaks & Friendly Service

I certainly was well pleased with the service, food, and treatment my party received, recently! I want to publicly say, "Thanks", to the restaurant and the friendly, attentive staff (hostess, servers, cooks, bar staff). I booked a party of 25 for Sunday, 9/14/25...30 persons showed up. The Black Stallion not only had the booking properly reserved, they accommodated the extra persons...seamlessly, as the served us professionally with tasty, well prepared food. The food and service was amazing. Our food was out quick and it was fresh and delicious. The pricing is very reasonable and the portions are large!

Read good reviews and wanted something nice for dinner. Black Stallion has quite a variety on their menu. The server, Leslie, was awesome and friendly and did a great job even though she was very busy. We had a large party and she was able to handle it well. The restaurant itself is quite large with several different seating areas. We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 which were great, one not so much. The fried pickles and choriqueso dip were very good. We were disappointed in the cheesy bacon fries. The steak fries didn't seem fresh. Most people ordered steak of some sort, a few got ribs and a few got burgers and one ordered chicken. The ribs and burgers were excellent. The steak was hit or miss, but it seemed like the ribeye was the best of the steaks ordered. The sides, mostly fries or Mac n cheese were just ok. In the end, we would come back. Everything is good, but it depends what you order.

Plenty of excellent choices!Steak, chicken , fish, salad, appetizers, dessert etc. The food was delicious! My husband and I shared a fried catfish dinner with 2 sides (baked sweet potato with butter and brown sugar and grilled, seasoned asparagus that was out of this world!) and we were both completely satisfied! The catfish was crispy and the temperature of the meal was perfect. The service was great as well. (The only negative I could possibly mention is that we were sitting near the inside entrance to the bar and every time a waitress went in there (which was too frequent, especially since she wasn't coming back through with drinks) the loud bar music would blare and fight with the pleasant dinner music we were enjoying.. Honestly, I can't wait to go back! Well probably ask to be seated away from the bar entrance though..

Stopped in while visiting Monticello. Everything about our visit was excellent, but that Rosemary Ribeye really knocked our socks off. If we lived in the area we would eat here very regularly. The seasoned steak fries were absolutely perfect. Crispy exterior, mashed potato interior, so good. Asparagus was exactly the way we grill it at home, which is to say perfect. The staff were very hospitable and welcoming. The entire family had a great experience all around and we will visit again the next time we're in town. Thank you for a really great time!
